I have such fond and strong memories of books I read when I was younger -- and I'm afraid to "revisit" them as an older person because I don't want to ruin the magic.Jennershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08044537551139633301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3873036011530033335.post-24834916031886386162009-10-17T14:07:19.517-04:002009-10-17T14:07:19.517-04:00I love this book! I actually saw it in theaters too and them immediately requested the Netflx for whenever it would be available.Rebecca, A Clothes Horsehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12224914134360638396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3873036011530033335.post-76344529480515230672009-10-17T00:10:32.388-04:002009-10-17T00:10:32.388-04:00Never heard of this one. As the daughter of an American history teacher, any thing that was historical piqued my interest.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05554217416500328610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3873036011530033335.post-3193924195391164432009-10-16T13:46:20.133-04:002009-10-16T13:46:20.133-04:00I have never heard of this book. I will keep an eye out for this book at the library.

Mary Jemison sounds familiar. I may have read that as a youngster.Beth(bookaholicmom)https://www.blogger.com/profile/04829694494490831936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3873036011530033335.post-67427351910097263612009-10-16T02:51:04.888-04:002009-10-16T02:51:04.888-04:00I know I would have loved this when I was younger ...I know I would have loved this when I was younger (and probably now too). It sounds a lot like Mary Jemison Indian Captive by Lois Lenski, which I read many times and I'm pretty sure I still own it.

It's based on the true story of Mary Jemison who was captured and raised by the Seneca Indians. I'll have to try to find Calico Captive at the library.Alycehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10919057159829023714noreply@blogger.com
