I was also raised religious...What a wonderful post. I was also raised religious / conservative, although no home schooling or religious schools (we didn't have those in PEI!). I, too, was lucky that although a lot of things weren't allowed (TV for example!) books were always OK, and I don't remember ever being told that I couldn't read something. Makes me feel pretty lucky.
